Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (Driver CPC) training is continual professional development which carries on throughout a professional bus, coach or lorry driver’s career. Once you pass your Driver CPC, you’ll be issued with a Driver Qualification Card (DQC).
A CPC certification is legally required for all professional drivers that hold licences that categorises C or D. It is now a standard part of professional driving especially if you are operating a bus, lorry or a coach.
You must do 35 hours of periodic training every 5 years to keep your Driver Certificate of Professional Competence ( CPC ) to drive a lorry, bus or coach. You can be fined up to £1,000 for driving professionally without Driver CPC. You can check how many hours of training you’ve done in the current 5-year period.
FORS SUD ( Safe Urban Driving ) training is essential for commercial HGV and PSV drivers transporting goods or passengers in the urban domain. The SUD course provides professional drivers with increased knowledge of other vulnerable road users such as cyclists and pedestrians, therefore improving road safety.
